Are You Who You Want To Be
Saturday, April 21st, 2007You ever have one of those mornings where you look back on everything you once were and realize it’s nothing you are now? Welcome to my Saturday Morning.
I went to Adoration this morning and just felt Him stronger than I have in a while. After spending sometime in silence just looking at Him and listening, I felt like I was supposed to listen to some music. I put on a Reflection Playlist I have on my iPod and a couple of songs came on that really took me to some key moments in my conversion.
The first was King of Glory by Third Day . This is a song that really meant a lot to me in College. It was the first time I heard a song that made me truly think about His glory and His majesty as a King; My King. We used it as the Entrance song for a retreat I did with the youth group I helped with in Tallahassee. I still remember how that song really made me start to comprehend the incomprehensible.
Next was a Switchfoot double-play. Dare You To Move and This Is Your Life. These two songs brought me to a darkened Highway 80 on my way to Clewiston, FL. I was driving for a meeting with the City Council the next morning and was having some good alone time. Those two songs came on like a 1-2 punch to the face. That’s one of the first times I really gave into God calling. I knew there was something else I was supposed to be doing that that who I was was not who I wanted to be.
Welcome to my conversion snapshot. Of course my conversion is much deeper and detailed but sometimes it’s the guideposts that really give us an idea of where we are and where we’ve been.
When you’re head down fighting through all the muck, we don’t have time to necessarily see the big picture. When we have a moment to stop, take a breath and look back at where we’ve been, you can see the bigger moments that God has put in our lives to help us guide through.
Are you head down? or are you at a point God is ready for you to breathe and look back on where you’ve come from?
Think about it. As for me, I’m gonna turn my face back toward the Son and see what might be next.

Just like that, I’m gone
Tuesday, April 10th, 2007In about 30 minutes, I’m heading for the airport. This has been one of my best visits home yet and it’s getting harder and harder to leave.
I love my family, I love my friends and I love the south. There is something to be said for being able to order Sweet Tea at any restaurant at any time.
St Paul I hope you’re ready for me. We’re going to have to lay down some ground rules. First: no more of this cold nonesense. It’s time you cut it out and start acting like a responsible state of the Union. Second: Rain is acceptable. Snow is not. Third: Learn to cook. Bland is not a Spice NOR a Seasoning. Would it kill you to use a little Tony Chachere’s every once in a while?
Your lakes are nice though
And on the third day…
Saturday, April 7th, 2007Who wouldn’t want to be me?
Thursday, April 5th, 2007I feel great. God has surely been blessing me with some amazing people and gifts in my life. Today alone I’ve had at least 10 different moments where I’ve seen him completely at work.
If it’s you I’m talkin about, you probably know. If you don’t think it’s you… you bless me anyway. Come talk to me so I can prove it.
God Bless
Welcome
