SUMMERTIME!
That’s right kids! The snow is melting and the sun is getting hotter. Soon we’ll be busting out the board shorts and getting the sand all up in your toe-cracks.
Baseball, Beaches, Barefeet, and Barbecues. MAN I love the summer!
But my friends, this year is looking a little… what’s the word. Hectic? Here’s the breakdown:
May 17- NET’s Thanksgiving Banquet, the end of the year shindig
May 18- Recovering from previously stated event.
May 19-22- A bunch of the NET Supe’s are road-tripping over to Sandusky, OH for 2 days of conquering the mammoth that is Cedar Point.
May 23-25- Special Memorial Day Trip. Details to come later.
May 27-28- NET Mission Staff end of the year Retreat. This caps it off friends. My two years of serving as a Supervisor wraps up in these 2 days at 3 Crosses Retreat Center. I’ll laugh, I’ll cry, I’ll eat my weight in egg-bake.
May 29- Comayagua, Honduras! I get to see my girlfriend in her element, where June 6 she’s been for the past year. I hear they have rice and beans there.
June 7- One of my best friends from high school and college is getting married. Ed, I can’t wait buddy.
June 9- 18- My last few days in the office, packing up my stuff and getting ready for what happens next!
June 19- 26- Redlands, California for D-Week. Julie Carlton and I will be leading this retreat of mass proportions! We’ll probably go to the beach too.
June 27- Putting the South in Southern California. Relaxing and seeing friends.
July 4
July 4-11- Honolulu, Hawaii! First leg of a crazy journey. Dustin Downing, a guy I supervised last year who is doing mission work in Hawaii this year, and I will be doing some golfing, some surfing and some relaxing. The last few days we’ll spend training with the rest of our NET Alumni World Youth Day Group.
July 11-25- Sydney, Australia! Along with a few million other Catholics, we’re going to converge on Sydney for 2 weeks of Celebrating the Catholic Youth Culture of Life with the highlight of attending a Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. My mission is to see if they have an Outback Steakhouse.
July 26- Back to St. Paul.
July 27- ?
