Keep on Rockin by the Sea World
Hey everyone-
I jut got back from a great weekend at St. George Island, the Official most Beautiful place on the planet.
I was down from Thursday to Sunday for Rock By The Sea
It was a great weekend featuring some excellent artists. Michael Tolcher, Gareth Asher, John Taglieri, Jackson Rohm, Scarlet Kings, Five Star Iris, Wideawake, Chuck Carrier and Ken, Drew & Ryan from Sister Hazel.
The music was great but the cause was greater. Rock By The Sea is a charity event to raise money for Lyrics for Life and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, both charities dedicated to raising money for cancer research and eradication.
A couple of special moments:
-Sharing a Hopkins meal with Ms. Ida
-Coming over the bridge to see the island for the first time
-The most kick butt beach house around
-Rubbing Sunblock on JT’s head while he played.
-Becoming a “Rock By the Sea Team” member just by saying, “you guys need any help?”
-Great friends reunions
-Saving Aaron Patrick from groupie doom.
-The Friday night beach bonfire which was left from a high school party that the cops broke up. Free bonfire? yes please!
-Praying on the beach.
-The cookout that almost wasn’t. Thankfully, with a little McGuyvering of the 1970’s falling apart grill, a little extra lighter fluid and a few extra matches, we were good to go.
-Toclher/Asher Olympics. Gareth is the new Franklin County Ping Pong and Horsehoe Champion.
-Selling a TON of Merch
-Beth & Gail. PHENOMENAL!
-Jill, Lindsey and Ali. Selling it all for the kiddies.
-The Saturday night bonfire. Singing along with Tolcher, Gareth and Scarlet Kings to some Killer Harmonies.
-Being on an island with no worries for 3 days.
-Gail’s birthday brunch on Sunday. Sweet Caroline and Little Red Corvette. It was a good day.
-Re-igniting the fire to write and perform.
and my favorite story of the weekend:
-Wideawake was the last band to leave on Sunday… only when it was time to go they realized that they had no transportation. Last minute, Lindsey and I were called in to pinch hit and get the boys & Shannon back to Tallahassee. We loaded everyone’s gear into Lindsey’s truck and the boys all piled in my car for the ride back to the Tallahassee Regional Airport. We had lots of fun talking and using the old iPhone to watch video clips, including the infamous “Star Wars Stacy”
All in all it was an AMAZING weekend. We raised some money to fight this ugly disease and I felt more blessed that I can possibly express to be a part of it.
Who’s ready for next year?

I’ve been a Wideawake fan for a long time, thats awesome you got to hang out with them.
I think you should think about renaming your blog, “special moments.”
