Tonight

Tonight I am in an interesting situation. It is 10:00 and I have nothing to do.

Tonight is one of those cherished few moments when I’ve finished all I have to do for the day and I’m not quite ready for bed yet; so instead, I blog.

There is so much going on right now. The new staff has been on the job for a little under a month now and I’ve transitioned into my new role as Team Supervisor/ Recruiter nicely.

I’ve moved offices, from the windowless dungeon at the back of the NET center, all the way to the front office, with a window that looks out onto Crusader Avenue. I still share an office, but I have my own bedroom. I don’t sleep on bunk beds anymore, but I still use Christmas lights as a nightlight.

My girlfriend has finished her time of service in New Orleans and is back in Chicago for a month before she packs up and moves to Honduras in September.

The 07-08 NET Teams arrive in August and before you know it, training will be over and I’ll be spending the 1st week of October in Florida.

That is just a snapshot of what life has been like for the past few months.

Yet with all that has been changing, one thing has remained constant; God’s eyes have never left me. In the storm that dances around me, He’s known where every raindrop would land. He’s been behind every breeze that has buffeted my face and every lightening bolt that has struck around me.

Things will continue to change no doubt. But as long as He’s at the center, it doesn’t matter how chaotic it seems, there will always be order.

If you can’t see God working in your life, where are your eyes focused?
